I am April Shivers, the human behind SHIVRSHOTS Photography! An adventurous 24-year-old photographer based in Washington, originally from Norway & Bulgaria.
Photography has always been more than just pictures to me—it’s about capturing raw, genuine moments and preserving them in time. My goal is for you to look at your photos and feel something, not just see an image. Like many, I know how awkward it can feel to stand in front of a camera and be told to ‘smile,’ which is why I focus on creating a comfortable, natural experience. No forced poses—just you, in your element, living your best life.
My style is true-to-color, vintage, and candid documentary, with a touch of film, Polaroid, and artistic techniques to create photos that are both crisp and dreamy. I love blending elegance with raw authenticity, capturing moments as they unfold while adding just enough creativity to make each shot feel cinematic and intentional. I focus on storytelling through a mix of clean digital imagery and nostalgic film aesthetics.
Gear-wise, I shoot with a Sony a7IV, but my heart belongs to my collection of vintage film cameras, which I aggressively bid on at ungodly hours (seriously, 3 AM eBay battles are my guilty pleasure). There’s just something about the unpredictable, raw beauty of film that keeps me coming back for more!
